Product: Blue Jeans
Problem: It was initially a labor intensive process, to package blue jeans of various sizes and weights into flat bags. The manual operation included 2 people each, for 2 production lines, and each line packaging at a rate of 2-3/min.
Solution: Sharp's 20" MAX™ and E-Z Bags® in multi-layer film for strength and lower pricing for larger sized bags (14 x 18).
Benefits: Work force is reduced to 1 person only, and packaging rate increased to 10-12/minute. The customer is investigating the feasibility of this operation for a different product and may add an Imprinter to apply a bar code directly to the bag at the point of packaging.
