Hobby & Crafts Packaging - Case StudiesProduct: Beads, for jewelry and crafts Problem: Customer was manually packaging beads in plain bags with print/apply labels. He was looking to automate this inefficient and costly operation. Solution: Sharp's MAX™ with Sharp Plus Imprinter, and E-Z Bags® in a multi-layer film. Bags were manufactured with retail display features and printed with white block for imprinting part numbers and quantity at the point of packaging. Benefits: The customer reduced the standard delivery time for machinery, because he inquired via Sharp's website. With the Sharp Packaging system in place, he was able to eliminate overtime hours. Product: Remote Control Car Kits Problem: This operation was costly and time consuming to manually apply a printed cardboard header to a flat bag. The customer was looking for a packaging system versatile enough to package the larger car body and miscellaneous parts for these remote control cars. Solution: Sharp's MAX™ 20" frame with 6" pass through, which allowed the customer to package the large (28" length) body component as well packaging small accessory pieces. Printed E-Z Bags® with extra large header for retail display. Benefits: A streamlined and more efficient assembly line process allowed several full time employees to be assigned to another project. Another facility is monitoring the success of the application with intentions of implementing the same.
